The mushroom knob gives you a wide, domed surface to drape your hand over instead of grip. Your palm rests on top, your hand's own weight does most of the work, and steering becomes a lean rather than a squeeze.

Good for weak grip, fatigue, pain, tremor, or any day where holding onto something small for a long time is more than you want to ask of your hand.

The details:

  • Fits power chair joysticks with a smooth pin (not compatible with threaded-pin systems like Edrive). Two sizes are available: 
    • Compact Fit: OAS Air Pro & Air Carbon. Fits joystick shafts about 5–6 mm.
    • Standard Fit: OAS Air Ultra, Permobil, Quantum & more. Fits joystick shafts about 6–6.5 mm.
    • Not sure? Measure your joystick shaft with a ruler or calipers, or reach out and we'll help you pick.
  • Wide domed cap with a comfortable contact surface
  • Durable PLA — smooth finish, rounded edges
  • A rubber o-ring is embedded in the print to grip the shaft for a snug press-fit, no glue or tools needed
  • Swaps back to your original handle any time
  • Available in your choice of color
    • Premium colors include multi-color and metallic finishes.

This is an aftermarket accessory, not a replacement for equipment fitted by your seating clinic or OT. If you're unsure whether a different handle style would help, ask them — they can usually let you try one.

Every piece is printed for your order specifically — nothing sits on a shelf. That's what lets us offer real size ranges and colors instead of "whatever's in the bin."

Take care

All prints are made with PLA, a sturdy plant-based plastic that prints with a smooth finish. PLA softens around 140°F, so don't leave it in a hot car. Body heat is never an issue.

The mushroom joystick handle is amazing. It eases the control of joystick, making it respond much better for me. And, it’s very comfortable to use. Just lay your palm on top of the mushroom head, and your joystick responds much better with it than without. I’m really happy with it!

I love my OAS air pro but my fingers cramp up, trying to hold the joystick like a pencil, and my whole hand gets stiff trying to hold the joystick between the web of my thumb. This is the perfect solution to my problems. I rest all my weight on the top of the joystick and whenever I need to change, heading all I do is make a minor adjustment and my hands stays there as the company gets up and going more pictures of the different colors will become available. I took a risk and tried it out blue/green silk before there was any picture of it and boy am I glad I did. It is beautiful and metallic. One side of the joystick is more blue and one side is more green. The metallic color shows even in the dark of my room. I also got a blue mushroom joystick and it is mat and has a mat feel to finish that the metallic “ silk” colors don’t. If you have any questions from what kind of different shapes might be available to more more pictures of the colors in different lightings or anything else you can think of don’t hesitate to contact Talia, she’s very open and really seems to just want to get you what you need, so don’t feel shy if you have any questions or comments she was wonderful in helping me get my shape and color picked out.
